Happy Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month!

Posted by EiE Team on Tuesday, May 10, 2022

Happy Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month! AAPI Heritage observances started more than 40 years ago, when president Jimmy Carter formalized Public Law 95-419 and established a celebration of American citizens of Asian and Pacific Islander origin. Through the month of May, we will be highlighting the incredible contributions of AAPI innovators and engineers with a focus on STEM innovations and achievements.

To celebrate AAPI Heritage Month, we’ll be sharing lessons, activities and ideas including:

  • Professional development resources for AAPI educators and administrators
  • National Inventors Month content, featuring AAPI inventors
  • & More!

In the meantime, take a look at some of our digital STEM storybooks with hands-on activities featuring Asian and Pacific Islander characters, including Hikaru’s Toy Troubles and Yi Min’s Great Wall.

Plus, check out these great resources for learning more about organizations working to promote AAPI excellence in STEM!
