Careers for Engineers: Aerospace!

Posted by EiE Team on Thursday, August 19, 2021

This month we’re thrilled to announce the launch of EiE Careers for Engineers, a new online experience for kids ages 7-12 to explore STEM careers. One career track featured on our interactive Careers quiz is aerospace engineering!

Aerospace engineers design primarily aircraft, spacecraft, satellites, and missiles. They also create and test prototypes to make sure that they function according to design. Their work can be seen from the airplanes we fly in to rockets that blast off into space. Aerospace engineers push us forward into the future!

What kinds of jobs do aerospace engineers do?

→ NASA aerospace engineers help design, construct and test the spacecraft NASA uses

→ National defense engineers who create missiles and equipment to defend and protect people

→ Aircraft engineers who build the flight crafts that carry people around the world

More about our quiz:

Broadly applicable for children ages 7-12, Careers for Engineers offers a personality-style quiz that shows kids how their interests connect to a career in an engineering field. After taking the quiz, children are presented with fun, colorful infographics packed with key facts about their engineer career match. Each infographic also includes links to other EiE and Museum of Science resources. Parents, caregivers, and educators can skip the quiz and download all five infographics directly. All resources (webpage, quiz and infographics) are available in both English and Spanish.

You’ll find the quiz in the Families section of the EiE website, on the MOS at Home page and coming soon to the learn.eie learning platform.
