Posted by EiE Team on Tuesday, August 24, 2021

This month, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of EiE Careers for Engineers, a new online experience for kids ages 7-12 to explore STEM careers. One career track featured on our interactive Careers quiz is agricultural engineering!Agricultural engineers solve agricultural problems concerning power supplies, the efficiency of machinery, the use of structures and facilities, pollution and environmental issues, and the storage and processing of agricultural products. Their work is essential for maintaining a food supply and protecting our forests and oceans. Agricultural engineers do essential work every day!

What kinds of jobs do agricultural engineers do?

→ Agricultural production engineers who develop farm machines and processes to harvest food

→ Conservation engineers who protect plants and animals on land, in the sea and the air

→ Research agricultural engineers who solve problems feeding enough people and plan for the future

More about our quiz:

Broadly applicable for children ages 7-12, Careers for Engineers offers a personality-style quiz that shows kids how their interests connect to a career in an engineering field. After taking the quiz, children are presented with fun, colorful infographics packed with key facts about their engineer career match. Each infographic also includes links to other EiE and Museum of Science resources. Parents, caregivers, and educators can skip the quiz and download all five infographics directly. All resources (webpage, quiz and infographics) are available in both English and Spanish.

You’ll find the quiz in the Families section of the EiE website, on the MOS at Home page and coming soon to the learn.eie learning platform.
