As computers become more ingrained in our daily lives, it’s important for everyone to understand the technology that we rely on. For learners of all ages, an understanding of computer science could help when pursuing a rewarding career, making smart purchases, or advocating for fair laws. To help you support this learning, whether you are at home or in a classroom, we’ve collected the following computer science resources. 

With National Grid’s support, we’ve partnered with charities, outreach groups and school districts to provide engaging, hands-on STEM learning kits to children across the metro region. With their help, we’re thrilled to bring our at-home engineering activities to young learners and their families across Massachusetts, including a number of students in grades K-6 who go to school at Columbus Park Elementary School in Worcester. 

It is never too early to start thinking about summer! This year, you can inspire excitement and curiosity for STEM with programs from EiE that get kids thinking – and acting – like engineers. 

Using storybooks to support standards-based STEM lessons is essential for cross-curricular learning in elementary grades - and engaging pictures and fun characters are a great way to connect with students. While these books can be used for independent and group activities, reading the stories aloud elevates STEM learning to the next level.
